As I sit down to write this, my heart is a whirlwind of emotions. The season finale of Just One Minute, titled "Screen Savor: The Playback," marks a significant chapter in my life. This episode is more than just a recap; it’s a heartfelt reflection on the journey that has brought me to where I am today.
From the beginning, launching Christopher Street TV was a groundbreaking moment. Creating the first black web series was not just an achievement but a statement. It was a declaration of my identity and a testament to the power of representation. New York City became the backdrop for this transformative period, where I found myself amid its vibrant chaos.
Reflecting on my personal milestones, I remember the day I said “I do” with my mom by my side. That moment was filled with love and hope, a stark contrast to the uncertainty that followed as I ventured out on my own.
Being recognized for my potential in media by the queen of Daytime Talk Show TV was surreal. It felt like a crowning moment, affirming that I was on the right path. Walking red carpets and celebrating birthday milestones added to the tapestry of my journey, each event a thread weaving through the story of my life.
However, this journey has not been without its heartbreaks. Losing my dear mentor, Nathan Seven Scott, and my incredible sister Tawana were devastating blows. Their absence is felt deeply every day, but I hold onto the belief that they are now my guardian angels, guiding me through the next phases of my life.
Now, as I embrace a new chapter in downtown Los Angeles, I am filled with a mix of nostalgia and anticipation. This city, with its unique energy, offers a fresh start and new opportunities to rediscover myself and forge new friendships.
The season finale of Just One Minute is a poignant reminder that while all good things must come to a pause, the journey continues.
Life’s path is filled with both joy and sorrow, triumphs and losses, but it is these experiences that shape us into who we are.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Here’s to new beginnings, cherished memories, and the adventures that lie ahead.
With love and gratitude,
Dwight Allen O’Neal
